Dimitris Varzabetian was born in Athens. He started drums lessons at the Workshop of Nikos Touliatos, meeting his teacher John Floros there. He took jazz harmony lessons with Angelos Tsourelis and in 2006 received a diploma in classical percussion.

He has participated in many shows and concerts in Greece and abroad. In 1994 he created the "Modern Drum School" with John Floros. Since 1998 he has been teaching drum technique in conservatories by giving classes and seminars.

In 2002 he created the jazz group Jazz Plus 3,4,5. In 2022 he released the album Session 1 with the group Sketches of Grey.
