Flying Jazz was formed in 2008 by Stefanos Andreadis with George Kontrafouris and the participation of other important musicians. It was then established as the Flying Jazz Trio with drummer Vassilis Podaras and later Dimitris Klonis. The group's repertoire includes mainly original compositions as well as covers.

The group's first album was released in 2013.
