Dimitris Papadopoulos was born in Athens in 1982. He has studied at the Athens Conservatoire and he is has a dimploma as a trumpet soloist.

He has collaborated with significant musicians of the international jazz scene and he has participated in numerous recordings. Some of these recordings are with: Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet, Dimitri Vassilakis Athens Quintet, Yiorgos Fakanas Group, Sami Aramis Quintet, Takis Paterelis, Vasilis Xenopoulos, Tony Lakatos, the Love Affair Big Band, Latin All Stars del Palenque, Bellevue Cadillac, Kostas Konstantinou Quartet and the Athens Jazz Legacy Quintet.

Dimitris Papadopoulos collaborates with the Athens Big Band and since 2013 he teaches at the jazz department of the Athens Conservatoire and at the Yiorgos Fakanas Art Music School.
