Takis Kanellos
Takis Kanellos was born in 1960 in Pireaus. He has collaborated with many artists and groups of the Greek scene, such as: Anti Troppau Council, Manos Hatjidakis, Dimitris Poulikakos, Alla Mantata, Michalis Siganidis, Mariza Koch, Iraklis Paschalidis, Nikos Portokaloglou, Notios Echos, Orfeas Peridis, Fanari tis Anatolis, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Xylina Spathia, Sokratis Malamas and others.
He is a member of the band Mode Plagal, one of the most prominent groups of the Greek jazz scene, playing the drums.
Also, he has collaborated as a sideman at album recordings: with Georgia Sylleou, Thomas Sliomis and Kostas Theodorou.
Takis Kanellos has composed music for the "Music workshops of the third program" of the Greek radio and television (ERT), for thetrical shows (Fausta by Bost and Cyclope by Euripidis) as well as for the movie "Roads and oranges: by Aliki Danezi Kunsten. Also, in the album "Beyond The Bosphorus" by Bosporus & Mode Plagal (Hitch Hyke, 2003) there are featured some of his own compositions.
