Petros Varthakouris was born in Paros island in 1974. He started playing the piano at the age of seven. Then he picked up the electric guitar, the electric bass and finally the double bass.

He has collaborated with artists of the Greek jazz scene such as Vasilis Rakopoulos, Stavros Lantsias, Haig Yazdjian, John Balikos and Lito Vogiatzoglou. For many years now he has been performing and recording with numerous Greek composers and songwriters.
