Leonidas Sarantopoulos
Flutist Leonidas Sarantopoulos was born in Athens in 1986. He started taking flute lessons at the age of 10 under professor Raymond Maloli at the National Conservatory of Greece. He graduated from Pallini’s Music Middle and High School and in 2010 from the Music Department of the Ionian University studying jazz flute with Dimos Dimitriadis and Ria Georgiadou.
Since then he lives and works in Athens, participating actively in the jazz scene of Athens having performed in numerous music festivals and music scenes. He has collaborated with many renowned Greek musicians, such as Vasilis Rakopoulos, George Kontrafouris, Nikos Sidirokastrtis, Stavros Lantsias, Antonis Andreou, Kostas Konstantinou, Andreas Polyzogopoulos and more.
His first personal album "Black Mamba" was released in 2012 and was succeeded by "Paflax" in 2017.
