Rudy Roots were formed in 2013 by Antonis Priftis (guitar), Dimantis Diamantakos (mc 2Delta) and Vangelis Baliousis (drums). Later on, Konstantinos Kilazoglou (pads, keyboards), Spyros Nikos (saxophone), Giorgos Konstantinou (bass), Manos Anagnostopoulos (bass) and Dimitris Emmanouil (percussion) became members of the band. 

The group's sound mixes hip-hop, jazz, r&b, afronewsoul, Gfunk and traditional Greek music. Rudy Roots' first album, "Ηγεμονία", was released in 2019 from Black Athena (Cobalt music).
