Stavros Manthos was born in 1990 and raised in Xylokastro, Korinthia. Since a very young age, he started experimenting with various wind instuments until he ended up playing alto saxophone at the age of 18. During his studies as a Civil Engineer in Patras, he continued his studies in improvisational music with Dimitris Tsakas at the Dihxo Music School. 

Returning to Xylokastro he started working as a math teacher and also as a music teacher, at the Musci For- Korinthos school. At the same time he participates in the Greek jazz scene with live appearances and concerts. 

Stavros Manthos has formed the Stavros Manthos Quartet along with the musicians Erik Panagopoulos (guitar), Alexis Delis (bass) and Panagiotis Kostopoulos (drums). The quartet released their first album "Colors in Motion" with Stavros' original compositions in 2020.
