Yiorgos Kostopoulos started studying electric bass at the age of fifteem. In 2015 he continued his studies at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, with Yiotis Kiourtsoglou and Kostas Konstantinou. From 2011 to 2016 he lived in New York and studied double bass at the Aaron Copland School of Music. He became a member of the NYC scene for three years and performed both as a sideman and as a leader, with famous artists and venues.

Since returning to Greece he started collaborating with the top Greek jazz musicians.

His personal debut album "Last Trip to the Moon" was released in 2016.
