Loukas Thanos was born in Athens. He studied dance, theatre, music, sociology and philosophy.

He has an extended discograpghy in various music styles and has composed for the theatre and the movies. He has also written operas and chamber music compositions.

His album "Anastrofi", released in 1983, was heavily influenced by fusion and jazz improvisation.
