Alexandros Spanidis
Alexanfros Spanidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1976. He started playing the drums at the age of 12, self-taught. He continued learning music at Neo Odeio of Thessaloniki and he moved on studying classic european percussion at Kratiko Odio of Thessaloniki. He also studied instrumentation and music conduction.
Since 2005 he is also involved in teaching. He has collaborated and played with: Sheila Jordan, Milcho Leviev, David Berkman, James Wylie, Diego Rivera, Craig Bailey and others. He composes music and is the co-leader of the the ethnic group EKMEK as well as member of the NASA FUNK group.
In addition, he has collaborated with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra (1997-1999), the jazz orchestra JOHANN SEBASTIAN JAZZ (2001-2002), the symphonic orchestra SYCHRONIA (2002-2004) and more.
