Vasilis Saltikis was born in Volos in 1966. He began his career in music in 1972, studying classical piano and basic theory at the Volos Conservatory. In 1986 he began studying jazz saxophone and harmony at the Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki, where he attended a series of seminars with Elia Pejovski.

In 1994 he completed his jazz saxophone studies in Athens with professors Dimitri Vasilakis and Costas Baltazanis and participated with a scholarship in the Summer Performance program at the Berklee College of music in Boston.

He has collaborated with many well-known artists and since 1992 he has also been working as a saxophone teacher in Music Gymnasiums and Conservatories.
