Thanos Polymeneas-Liontiris studied double bass and electronic music composition at the Rotterdam Conservatory and undertook postgraduate studies in sound technology at the Institute of Sonology (Royal Conservatory of The Hague), and at the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM) in Paris. Thanos has obtained two postgraduate degrees, in creative education and the fine arts (in the field of art and technology). His two postgraduate dissertations were awarded first class honors and honorary distinctions.

He is a PhD graduate of the University of Sussex, supported by the British state via an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) scholarship.

Since 2011, he has worked consistently as a lecturer at various English universities (Brighton, Falmouth, Sussex). He now also forms part of the teaching team at the Ionian University’s Music Department, and is a researcher at the University of Sussex.

His artistic practice comprises computer-aided and interactive music compositions, audiovisual installations and immersive performances.
