Panagiotis Pitsakis was born and raised in Athens. He began his studies as a classical saxophonist, but soon turned his main interest into jazz. He studied jazz saxophone and jazz improvisation at the Praxis conservatory with Yiannis Papanastasiou. He has studied jazz harmony and ear training with George Argyropoulos at the Praxis conservatory.

Since 2017, he has been leading the Panos Pitsakis Quartet, with which he has performed in many venues in Athens.
