Kostas Maginas

Kostas Maginas was born in Athens. He studied guitar in Athens and Thessaloniki and in 1987 he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Between 1988 and 1990 he was a member of the Brandeis University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Ricky Ford and he played with Milt Hinton, Charles Davis, Ran Blake, Kenny Burrell and many others.
Returning to Greece he started playing in jazz festivals and clubs around the country and collaborated with artists such as Lee Konitz, Mark Turner, Graig Bailey, Sam Newsome and Olivier Gatto.
His debut album "Dialogues", merging jazz with greek and balkan influences, was released in 1999.
