George Dousis
George Dousis was born in Athens in 1975. He has completed classical piano studies and also he has graduated from the Department of Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens (UoA). He studied arrangement with Kostas Clavvas, composition with Thodoros Antoniou and later jazz with Markos Alexiou.
He has written works for various ensembles, many of which have been played in the UK, USA, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. His artistic output includes a series of works for symphonic orchestra, five string quartets, a concerto for piano, and operas. As an orchestrator, he has collaborated with important orchestras such as Boston Pops, Cannes Symphony Orchestra, National Broadcasting Corporation Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Armonia Atenea – The Friends of Music Orchestra and others. He is also a member of the Greek Composers’ Association.
Along with Paraskevas Kitsos (bass) and Nick Kassavetis (drums) he formed the Momo Trio, with which released his first album "No Vacancy" in 2012.
