Alex Dante
Alex Dante (Alexandros Dandoulakis) was born and raised in Irakleion, Crete. He studied at the National Technical University of Athens while also studying at the Musical Praxis Conservatory. He graduated from the West London University (London College of Music) with a Licentiate of Teacher’s Diploma.
He has collaborated with many Greek artists, as well as with international artists, such as Bill Frisell, Monophonics, Alan Zavod (Frank Zappa & the Mothers), Soul Jazz Orchestra, Thievery Corporation, Radio Moscow and more.
His work is inspired by many music genres, but he focuses on the solo approach of the electric guitar.
He has performed at venues and festivals such as the Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the Kazantzakeia Festival, etc.
His debut album "Alex Dante plays F. Chopin’s Nocturnes" was released in 2019 and it was succeded by "Alex Dante Duet plays S. Rachmaninoff", a duo album with drummer Manolis Yiannikios, in 2021.
