Dimitris Christodoulakis was born in Athens. He began his music studies in 1992 at the age of 17 at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens. He studied drums and music harmony with Spyros Panagiotopoulos.

Then he moved to Los Angeles and studied at the Los Angeles Music Academy, under teachers and musicians such as Ralph Hamphrey, Mike Shapiro, Jo Porcaro, J.R. Robinson, Tony Inzalako, Mike Packer, Jerry Steinholtz, Carl Allen, Serman Ferguson and many more. While in L.A., he won in 2 scholarship competitions.

He has performed in Europe, Australia and United States with several pop singers and also a lot of performances with many Jazz and Latin bands.

Since 2001 he has been teaching at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
