Alexandros Karalias was born in Athens in 1987. He started playing the classical piano at the age of 12 and three years later, he came in contact with drums, in parallel with his studies at the TEI of Accounting in Messolonghi. In 2010 he started classes at the Conservatory of Mousiki Praxis with Spyros Karamitsos and received a degree in harmony under the guidance of Nikos Panagiotakis.

In the period 2015-2019 with teacher Giannis Floros, he was taught the philosophy and technique of Alan Dawson, something that defines him both musically and as a person. He is a graduate student of the postgraduate program of Athens University "Jazz Improvisation with New Technologies", while in recent years he has been working as an independent drums teacher, but also in conservatories in Athens.

He is an active member of the Athenian scene since 2011, making many collaborations with musicians and bands of the jazz, blues, soul-funk scene.
