Nick Bakopoulos was born in Athens. He successfully received his Bachelor diploma studying jazz music and saxophone in Prins Claus Conservatoire, Groningen, Netherlands. He is influenced by a great variety of musical traditions, ranging from the Afro-American tradition, to free improvisation, to contemporary singers, singer songwriters and so on. 

Next to his Bachelor of Music, he has been often hired as a session musician and been active in his own teaching practice.

He leads his jazz quartet named NikoBa4tet, with which he strives to mix traditional jazz music with modern aesthetics, through the use of original arrangements and original compositions.
