Guitarist Dimitris Bakopoulos was born in Athens. He began his studies with George Grigorakos and Grigoris Danis. He then graduated from the Prince Claus Conservatoire of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

He has attended classes with many important names of the world jazz scene such as Billy Hart, Mike Clark, Jesse Davis, Dado Moroni, Steve Nelson, Gregory Hutchinson, Don Braden, Rick Margitza, Danny Grisset, Sheryl Bailey, Paul Bollenback, Tim Armacost, Freddie Hendrix, Michael Mossman and has performed on many stages in Europe.
