Nikos Georgousis was born in 1955. He studied music in Athens and Paris. Among his teachers were Max Deutsch and Jacques Casteredes. He received a musicology diploma and a DEA in art criticism.

He composed modern music works for small and large ensembles, but he also was engaged with jazz and improvisation.

He died in 1992.
