Costis Christodoulou
Costis Christodoulou was born in Athens in 1983 and grew up in Sparti, at the Peloponnese. He was engaged in music by playing rembetika and at the same time practicing classical piano. Also, he was a member of several local rock groups.
In 2001 Costis Christodoulou moved to Athens and started taking jazz piano lessons with Stavros Lantsias while simultaneously working as a professional musician. In 2002 he was accepted to study in the Music Department of the Ionian University, where he studied with George Kontrafouris, Dimitris Kalantzis, Dimos Dimitriadis and others and finally he obtained a graduate degree in Jazz Performance and Composition. The years 2007 and 2008 he continued studying jazz piano lessons at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Jarmo Savolainen.
Costis Christodoulou relocated in Athens in 2008. His debut as a leader "The Thing" was released in 2012 and was succeeded by "The Year of the Thing" in 2020. He has appeared in many festivals in Greece and abroad.
