Iasis were formed in Athens in 1995 by guitarist Costas Baltazanis with Petros Kourtis and Yiotis Kiourtsoglou.

The group's repertoir, based on original compositions, was a fusion of jazz with greek, balkan and eastern traditional music influences.

They released three albums and performed in many venues and festivals in Greece and abroad.
