Yorgos Maniatis was born in Athens in 1968.

He has studied privately with Jeff Tain Watts, Victor Lewis, Lenny Nelson, Tommy Campbell and Gerald Cannon.

He has performed with famous artists such as Frank Lacy, Alex Foster, Roy Hargrove, Mike Stern, Mark Gross, Steve Wilson and Mike Richmond and has appeared in world class venues like the Carnegie Hall, Blue Note NYC, Town Hall, Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom and Jazz at the Lincoln Center.
