Manos Kourtis was born in 1980. At the age of 9 years old he entered the world of music starting with classical guitar lessons at the Conservatory of Michlais Chatzianastasiou.

He turned itno jazz the age of 18, studying jazz guitar with Evangleos Tsiotridis and in 2005 he obtained a degree in electrical guitar and harmony. He continued his studies at the Roterdam Conservatorium, between 2006-2011, when he completed his studies with a degree in "Jazz Harmony with specialization in jazz guitar". 

Since 1996 he starte collaborating with various artists of the rock, pop, metal, blues and folk/traditional Greek music. Nevertheless, jazz music still remains his biggest love.

Manos Koutrtis has also a brilliant career in the academnic field as he teaches guitar and jazz harmony at music schools and conservatories.
