Nikos Politis was born in Syros island in 1953. In 1960 his family was settled in Pireaus. He started playing the guitar and the bass as a self-taught very early.

He became a member of remarkable rock bands such as Exadaktylos and Socrates. Soon he also turned his interest into jazz and since the '80s he started collaborating with artists such as George Trantalidis, Markos Alexiou, Laslo Attila and Tony Lakatos.

He collaborated with many well-known Greek composers and singers and he has also worked as a sound engineer.
