Pianist Kostas Yaxoglou was born in Sparti in 1975. He studied theatrology at Athens University, translation at the British Counsil and at the same time he was active in theatrical and music groups (from 1996 to 2002). He started being involved with jazz since 1997, when he met George Kontrafouris and Sylvios Syrros.

From 1997 to 1999 he was a member of the soul rock group Savra ton Vasilikon Dromon, while from 1998 to 2002 he played with the latin group Apurimac. From 2004 to 2008 we was in Amsterdam and completed his Bachelor in Jazz Piano Performance at Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. While being in Holland he was a member of various jazz, latin and pop groups and taught at Amsterdamse Theater Academie-Nieuwe Stijl.

Since 2008 he is an active member of the Athens jazz scene, performing at recordings and concerts. Along with Nikos Sidirokastritis and Xrysostomos Boukalis he is a founding member of the Charlie Haden tribute band B.Y.S. Trio.

The band's debut album was recorded live at the jazz club The Zoo.
