Efthymis Tsakiris grew up in Veria. He began playing the saxophone in the Municipal Philharmonic Band. He continued his studies in Athens at the Central Conservatory of Kostas Klavvas and later in Paris. He holds a Diploma from the C.I.M. Paris Jazz School, a diploma in classical saxophone, and a degree in harmony. He also plays the flute and clarinet.

He is a founding member of the Panhellenic Saxophone Association, the association “Friends of Jazz and Creative Music,” the big band Magic Road, and the saxophone quartet Sax Voyage. He teaches modern saxophone at the AMS Conservatory and is an active member of both the jazz scene and the wider music scene of Thessaloniki.
