Manos Saridakis
Manos Saridakis was born in Athens in 1977. At the age of forteen he started piano lessons with Themistoklis Roussos. At fifteen he joined the Dimitri Vassilakis Quartet, which led him to recording for Candid Records and performing at Birdland Jazz Club in 2001.
In 2001 he moved to NYC where he worked as a professional musician for ten years, collaborating with famous artists and groups of the jazz, blues and pop scene, such as David Liebman, Marc Johnson, Ralph Peterson Jr., Jamey Haddad and Satoshi Takeishi. He has performed at venues and clubs such as the Blue Note NY, the Smoke, the Yale University and many more. In 2006 he was included in the list of the world's 25 best jazz pianist at the Thelonious Monk international jazz piano competition.
In 2010 he returned to Greece and started teaching jazz piano at Philippos Nakas Conservatory, while continuing his collaboration with well-known greek jazz artists Takis Barberis, Dimitri Vassilakis, Mode Plagal, etc.
In 2018 he released his first personal album "The Greek Real Book, Vol. 1", a solo piano album informed by greek traditional music.
