Paris Matakoudis was born in Athens in 1974. He studied piano for four years from the age of six and acquired his first electric bass at the age of thirteen. Bass and jazz double bass studies followed. He received a diploma in classical double bass with excellent grades.

He has collaborated with classical orchestras, but also with greek music groups. His involvement with jazz also led him to many collaborations with jazz musicians and bands. He has composed music for the theater and for documentaries, as well as for improvisational ensembles. He also dabbles in analog synthesizers, as he is very interested in electronic music.

He is a member of Atrapos-Atrapos and Sketches of Gray. With the latter one he released the album Session 1 in 2022.
