Giorgos Maglaras was born in Nafpaktia in 1953. He started playing the violin as a child. Then he studied at the Athens Conservatory. Since the early '70s he begun to play professionaly.

He has collaborated with many popular artists (Dionysis Savvopoulos, Charis Alexiou, Nikos Papazoglou, Manolis Rasoulis and more), as well as with rock and jazz artists.

His first personal album, entitled "Through Memories" was released in 1996.
