Irinaeos Koulouras
Koulouras Irinaeos was born in Limasol in 1965. From 1975 to 1991 he worked as a double bassist in Cyprus, England and Germany. In 1994 he travelled to the USA with the prurpose to study at the Berklee College of Music and finally he obtained a BA in Professional Music. He attended classes of Ron Charter, Charlie Banakos and Ed Barker, he collaborated with established musicians such as Ofer Ganor, Amos Hoffman, Avishai Cohen, Christos Rafaelides and others and he appeared many times with jazz groups in Boston and New York.
in 2001 he moved to Athens where he worked with many Greek musicians such as: Haris Alexiou, Christos Leontis, Nikos Xydakis, Nena Venetsanou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and foreign musicians as well: Arturo Sandoval, Larry Harlow, Ofer Ganor, Avishaι Cohen and others.
In 2009 he obtained a Diploma in Double Bass from the Athens Conservatory wιτη Tassos Kazaklis as his teacher. During his staying in Athens he also taught at the Filippos Nakas Conservatory and he participated in many music productions.
Since 2010 he has moved back to Cyprus and he works in various projects with musicians of his country, such as with Evagoras Karageorgis, for the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and others. He founded the Trio Koulouras" along with George Krasidis and Giorgos Koulas.
