Yiotis Kiourtsoglou
Yiotis Kiourtsoglou was born in Kozani in 1965. He studied electrical engineering in Thessaloniki while he was also studying jazz and music theory at Modern Music Conservatory.
He continued his studies at the Musicians’ Institute in Los Angeles. Among his teachers were Garry Willis, Jeff Berlin, Bob Magnuson and Scot Henderson.
He has performed and recorded extensively in Greece and abroad. He was a founding member of the Electric Jazz Trio and later joined by David Lynch and Stavros Lantsias he formed the group Human Touch.
He has collaborated with countless popular artists (Dionisis Savvopoulos, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Elli Paspala etc.) as well as with jazz artists (Trilok Gurtu, Milcho Leviev, Markos Alexiou and many more).
His debut personal album "Hapopsis" was released in 2005. He teaches at Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
