Maria Grapsa was born in Athens and started receiving classical piano lessons very early. She studied environmental engineering and she turned her interest to jazz when she met George Kontrafouris.

Since 2014 she has been based in London where she studied music and received a master's degree in jazz at the Royal Conservatoire of Birmingham.

She has performed in many venues and festivals such as Southbank Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Jazz Café, Pizza Express Live Soho, etc. and has shared the stage with artists such as Gary Crosby, Daniel Rollins and Tim Berne.  

Her debut album “Life” was released in 2023.
