Minas Alexiadis

Minas Alexiadis was born in Athens in 1960. He studied piano, theory and composition with Yannis Ioannidis, jazz piano with Bela Lakatos and gained a Diploma in composition at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. He is also a Law School graduate and has earned a PhD in Musicology from the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens, at which he is currently a professor.

Starting in the early '80s he has released many recordings and has collaborated with many famous jazz artists as Chick Corea, Markus Stockhausen, Arild Andersen, Tony Lakatos, Cristoph Lauer, Keter Betts, Gunter Hampel, Harry Sokal and others.

His works include opera themes, symphonic music, chamber music and electronic music, as well as music for the ballet, film and the theater. Many of his compositions have won prizes and have been performed and broadcasted worldwide.
