The duo Kasímmavik was formed in 2022 by Nicky Kokkoli (alto saxophone) and Simos Riniotis (drums).

Kasímmavik is a term included in the Inupiaq language, used by the indigenous people of North Alaska, to describe a meeting point.

Their debut album "An Infinite Degree of Separation" was released in 2026.
