Nikos Kalantzakos was born in Athens. He started guitar lessons when he was 8 years old, with teacher Dimitris Faba. At 14 he started studying hammond with Kostas Ganoselis. He then studied jazz, contemporary harmony and orchestration with the pianist Markos Alexiou.

In 1994 he created the band Loud Jazz together with guitarist Vassilis Tziazias, bassist Yiannis Vassalos and drummer Stefanos Dimitriou.

He has collaborated with many popular Greek artists such as Haris Alexiou, George Andreou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Christos Thivaios and others.

He died in April 2024.
