Thodoris Ziarkas
Thodoris Ziarkas grew up with the sounds of Greek folk music and started playing regional instruments such as the Lyra and tsambouna. Later he discovered the double bass.
Since 2009 he is based in London. He is the co-founder of the group Valia Calda and leads the Thodoris Ziarkas's USCITA. He also participates in other projects, such as Stamou/Chytiris/Ziarkas trio, AMAN, Udopia Trio, London Improvisers Orchestra, Bonnendis, COT and Electric Litany.
He has also collaborated with the dance artist Georgia Paizi, with the director Sean Turner, with Julianna Bloodgood & Rafal Habel and more. Furthermore he has been commissioned to compose music for the project Sound Photography of Cities & Memories (UK) and for two independed Greek film productions: "Soul Food" by Nikos Tseberopoulos (2020) and "White Mountains by Alexandros Papathanasiou.
In addition he is a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique, trained at London Centre for Alexander Technique & Training.
