George Tzoukas

George Tzoukas was born in Kozani. He started piano lessons at the age of 9. He studied piano at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, from where he received a Piano Degree in the class of Christine Fressinier and a Diploma in the class of Stella Dimitrova with distinctions, as well as the Degrees of Advanced Theory (harmony, counterpoint, fugue). He attended master-courses with Roberto Szidon, Julia and Constantine Ganev, Dimitris Sgouros, George Hatzinikos.

In parallel with his classical studies, he also dealt with jazz music and composition. His appearances all over Greece and abroad (Mexico, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, etc.) as a soloist or with ensembles are continuous.
He has also collaborated with many Greek and foreign jazz musicians such as Danny Hayes, Wayne Brasel, David Lynch, Milcho Leviev, Vicky Almasidou and many more.

With Trio Apopsis he has performed in many concerts and festivals inside and outside Greece, including the International Jazz Festival "Euro Jazz" of San Luis Potosi (Mexico 2005) and the Sani Festival (2006).

He has recorded as a session musician in many discographic works of Greek artists. He has composed music for theater, films and documentaries.
