Nicolas Tryphonos was born in 1980 in Limassol, Cyprus. He attended private lessons of electric bass and music harmony at Nakas Conservatory in Athens from 2000 to 2003. In 2003 he returned to Cyprus where he got lessons of double bass from Irineos Koulouras.

In 2004 after a successfull audition he was accepted in Amsterddam Conservatory following the subjet jazz double bass. In 2007 he transfered his studies at the Utrecht Conservatory and in 2011 he got his Bmus Hons in jazz double bass. In 2013 he got his MMUs Jazz Performance from he Utrecht Conservatory.

He has been active artist both at the music scene of The Netherlands and Cyprus. He has been a member of several bands and has participated in projects presented in Cyprus but also abroad. Since summer of 2013 he is based in Cyprus continuing his artistic life.
