Andreas Thermos
Andreas Thermos was born in Athens. He began studying piano and saxophone at an early age. He graduated from the Music High School of Pallini and, after receiving a scholarship at Nakas Conservatory, continued his studies at Berklee College of Music. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music in Performance.
He has studied or collaborated with artists such as George Garzone, Billy Pierce, Kendrick Scott, Mark Kelley, Dick Griffin, Raynald Colom, Javier Vercher, Shelley Burns, Giorgos Kontrafouris, Takis Farazis, among others.
He was a founding member of the bands “Cinammon Free” (2002–2004) with Giorgos Kontrafouris and Giannis Papatriantafyllou, “Jazz Roots” (2005–2007) with Periklis Trivolis and Kostas Kouvidis, “J-Funk Band” (2008–2010) with Marina Satti, Michalis Kapilidis and Julie Massino, as well as “Bellafunk Orchestra” (2010–2013) with Adedeji Adetayo and Kostas Liolios.
He has performed as a leader and sideman in numerous venues and festivals, and in 2018 he formed a Jazz Sextet, which is featured on his debut album “Window of Hope” (PKmusik, 2026). Alongside his musical activities, he works in the family business, Fagottobooks, in Athens and Lefkada.
