The Coal was formed Athens by Giannis Arapis (guitar) and Simos Riniotis (drums). With the addition of Dimos Vryzas (violin) it became a trio.

The band’s sound incorporates influences from classical music to jazz, rock, blues and ambient to melodies inspired by traditional mediterranean music.

The Coal released it’s debut album “Son Of A Gun” in 2017.
