Trombone player Jim Staridas was born and raised in Australia, until he was 20 years old. He started playing the trompone at his high school Big Band.

When he was 21 years old he decided to visit Greece, his father's country of origin, on vacation but finally he started working professionally as a musician and stayed ever since. First he collaborated with Spiros Grammenos band and continued with Kostis Maraveyas, Panos Mouzourakis, Leonidas Balafas, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Evanthia Reboutsika, Alkistis Protopsalti as well as with the bands Tango With Lions, Los Tre, Patatatiti, Gumbo Ya Ya.

Jim Staridas lives and works in Athens, he has his own family and has participated in many recordings.
