Sotiris Pomonis attended private lessons on electric guitar with Christos Lagos (1986-1988). He is a graduate of the Philippos Nakas Conservatory -Department of electric guitar- Modern Harmony, with professor Costas Baltazanis and a graduate of the Musician Institute of London (G.I.T) -Live Performances playing. He has also attended jazz improvisation seminars at Berklee College.

He has been teaching guitar since 1993. He is a founding member of the band September Code and a member of the gypsy jazz group Gadjo Dilo. He has also appeared with many popular Greek artists.
