Dennis Pol
Denis Pol (aka Dion Berardo) was born in Italy and grew up in Greece. He studied music for one year at the Filippos Nakas Conservatory, having Yiotis Samaras as a teacher. He continued his studies at the Croeningen University in Holland, where he played with well known jazz musicians of the New York jazz scene, such as Mike LeDonne, o Paul Bollenback, o Wycliffe Gordon, o Don Braden και ο Joe Locke.
In May 2015, he appeared at the Elb Jazz Festival in Hamburg Germany, with the quintet of jazz singer and composer Alina Engibaryan. The next year he moved to Amsterdam to continue his studies, he obtained a BFA in performing arts and at the same time he was intoduced to gypsy swing.
In 2017 he won the Bucharest International Jazz Competition with the quintet of the pianist Aron Gunst and for three consecutive years (2017-2019) he played at the luthier stage of the most known gypsy jazz festival in the world, the Django Reinhardt Festival, at Fontainebleau rance, with the musicians: Mathieu Chatelain and Jeremie Arranger.
His album "New York City was releiased in 2019.
