Vaggelis Paraskevaidis
Vaggelis Paraskevaidis was born in Athens. Starting with piano lessons at a very early age, as a teenager he turned his interest into drums and started playing with various punk rock bands. During this period he discovered the vibraphone and his interest in improvisation.
In 2003 he received an orchestra percussion diploma from Salford University, Great Britain. Since then he works professionally and has collaborated with artists such as Martha Fritzila, Eleonora Zouganeli. Apostolos Rizos and Camerata Orchestra.
In 2012 with Paradoxonia, a band the combined the balkan sound with jazz in a rock informed sound, he released his first original compositions. His first personal album "Indoles" was released by Ikaros Records in 2018.
He has also composed for theatre and theatre for children. He teaches music theory, vibes/marimba and percussion at various music schools and conservatories.
