Orestis Krikonis was born in 1984 Trikala. He began playing the violin at the age of 6 and the guitar at the age of 12. He studied Musicology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and obtained a degree in classical violin and a diploma in advanced music theory. His interest in jazz led him to continue his studies at the Ionian University Jazz Department where he had the chance to study with artists such as Dimos Dimitriadis, George Kontrafouris and Stefanos Andreadis. He also attended seminars by Petros Klampanis, Nikolas Anadolis, Yiannis Pappadopoulos, Next Step Quartet, Gilad Hekselman, Jonathan Kreisberg, Marius Beets and more.

He has performed in various venues and participated in many local and national festivals.

Since 2011 he has also been a music teacher in secondary education and since 2017 he is based in Crete.
