Vasso Dimitriou
Vasso Dimitriou studied classical guitar and music theory at the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki, as well as jazz guitar and theory with Theo Kapilidis. She continued her studies (composition, improvistation, arranging and film-scoring) at G.I.T. of M.I. and at UCLA in Los Angeles. She attended lessons and seminars with Ted Greene, Pat Metheny, John Stowell, Joe Diorio and John Scofield.
She has taught at G.I.T. M.I., the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the Art School Y. Fakanas and at Giorgos Metallinos' Polyrythmia. He has collaborated with composers such as Thanos Mikroutsikos, Thanasis Papakonstantinou and Dionysis Savvopoulos and with musicians such as Christos Rafailides, David Lynch and Donovan Leitch. She has composed for PBS and Travel Channel and has collaborated with the dance group Griffon and the theatrical group of the Hellenic University Club, USA. She has arranged for the String Orchestra "Thanasis Tsipinakis" and has performed at numerous concerts and festivals in Greece and abroad.
She is a founding member of Noir Sessions, Liminal Vanguard and the Jazz Utopia.
