Charalampos Chronis
Charalampos Chronis was born in Athens in 1996. Growing up he studied classical piano and got introduced to the trombone in his teens by the sound of his first teacher Antonis Andreou. After graduating high school, he begun his studies in mechanical engineering while he continued to perform in festivals and venues all over Greece with ska-punk and funk bands.
In 2017 he decided to move to Amsterdam, leaving behind his engineering studies in NTUA and enrolling in the jazz department of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he is currently studying under Ilja Reijngoud.
Since his arrival in the Netherlands, he has been very active at the local but also at the international music scene while still being a part of the Greek jazz scene. He has performed at North Sea Jazz Festival, Injazz festival, Bimhuis and Jeppis Jazz Festival and has collaborated with artists such as Aaron Parks, Alex Sipiagin and others.
His debut album entitled "When gray shines the brightest" was released in 2021.
